Fast Staff Access
May 10, 2024MyStaff app Helping to Reduce NHS Waiting Times
UHBW has been using the MyStaff app for 9 months now, ample time to monitor effectiveness and productivity gains.
The real wins from using MyStaff app, in the view of Naomi Stride are improved patient care alongside significant time savings for frontline staff.
Diligram Ltd, the parent company and creators of MyStaff app has spent much time interviewing frontline staff that use the MyStaff app daily, to find out where the real benefits lay.
One key message that comes out is the time savings which ‘give time back’ to frontline staff that can contribute significantly towards helping to reduce waiting lists.
Traditionally, accessing key documentation from an NHS intranet could take 3 – 4 minutes, which does not take into account the time spent going to a terminal and logging in. Frontline staff are now able to access critical documentation in around 30 seconds, wherever they are in the hospital or even remotely, on their handheld device.
Time saved simply accessing documentation using the MyStaff app equates to 17,784 hours per year, 53,352 hours over a 3-year cycle. This critical time saving has helped to reduce waiting lists as well as significantly improving patient care.
Naomi cites improved patient care as one of the overriding benefits also. Having the ability to check on procedures or hospital equipment usage at critical times can be literally life saving.
Efficiency improvements are welcomed by any NHS Trust. Improved patient care and reducing waiting lists are key metrics that are an obligation.
