Introducing The MyStaff app
August 7, 2024How to Help Retain NHS Staff
Staff retention within the NHS is a topical issue. The huge investment in time and resources that are spent training NHS staff means that knowing how to help retain NHS staff is a key issue for many NHS Trusts.
Much work has been carried out at very high levels to investigate ways of increasing NHS staff retention, and what can be done to help to maintain key staff. But the results are not always what many people would expect. Many are attracted to the profession for the ability to help and care for others, as witnessed by the increase in applications after the Covid outbreak.
So what can be done? Staff morale and happiness at work are considered to be key elements, as is making the work easier and more productive wherever possible.
Accessing critical NHS Trust documentation is a good example of this. Frontline staff simply want (and need) to access procedural and best practice guidelines as quickly as possible. Time spent at access terminals or wading through paper-based documents can be confusing and certainly time-consuming. Ensuring that the very latest procedure or guideline has been accessed is not always guaranteed.
MyStaff app is an AI-driven document management and distribution system, created with the NHS for the NHS. Hand-held devices ensure that documents can be accessed wherever needed, be that at a patient’s bedside, or when working remotely. The document libraries within MyStaff app are the confirmed latest versions, a single source of truth.
Helping With NHS Staff Retention
Diligram Ltd, the UK-based company that is responsible for creating and implementing the MyStaff app has invested much time gathering feedback from the thousands of NHS frontline staff that are using the app daily. Time-saving (in many instances saving well over 10 minutes to find the required documentation), easy to use, clear interface, and accurate are just a few of the positive comments that we have received.
Removing a painful daily experience within a working environment, and replacing it with a user-friendly, efficient system contributes to a better staff experience. Time saved also allows frontline staff to spend more time doing what they joined the NHS for in the first place – improved patient care.
