August 1, 2024How Can NHS Trusts Create More Time for Frontline Staff?
A dilemma that most NHS Trusts face – freeing up more time for frontline staff to be able to deliver more direct care to patients.
Delivering care helps with reducing NHS waiting lists, as more direct care usually means better and faster outcomes for patients. But when most staff are already stretched, working long hours to cover just the basics, Trusts should always be looking for different ways to do things, be that processes or AI that can help to free up time. Indeed, the current and the previous Governments are urging the NHS to investigate and, where appropriate to adopt digital solutions.
Most Trusts have a document management system in place, but not many realise just how archaic some of their daily used systems may be.
This is where the MyStaff app is already helping to save time and reduce waiting lists in UHBW Bristol.
For over 12 months now, around 15,000 frontline staff have been using the document access and management system, accessing key information on hand-held devices, often at the patient’s bedside. Traditional access to procedural documentation, updates, and patient care leaflets often meant leaving the ward to access a terminal to download what they required. This laborious task often took up to 15 minutes from start to finish, but this has been reduced to just a few seconds in most cases.
Many people in all walks of life have commented just how much they love their jobs but “hate the I.T”. The adoption of MyStaff app has meant that the IT element of daily work has been reduced to a bare minimum, allowing nurses and doctors to get on with the areas of their jobs that they love, delivering patient care.
The MyStaff app, created by Diligram Ltd and developed with the NHS, for the NHS, has a full suite of AI-driven technology to help NHS document management and delivery. More detailed information can be found HERE.
